Posted by Downshire PTA Committee • PTA Organiser

We are thrilled to announce that our annual Christmas Fair will take place on Saturday 5th December from 10:30am to 2:00pm! We are currently looking for local craft stalls, festive food vendors, and parent volunteers to help run class games and refreshments. What stalls or festive activities did your children enjoy most last year? Share your suggestions below or email us at DownshireprimaryPTA@gmail.com to reserve a stall!

Sarah M. (P3 & P5 Parent) 2026-10-29

The kids absolutely loved the cookie decorating and the festive tombola last year! Would love to help out on the tea & coffee stall from 10:30–12:00.

A pocket-money secret Santa stall where children can pick small £1–£2 wrapped gifts for their parents/siblings is always a huge hit!

Thank You for an Incredible June Colour Run & PIPS Fundraiser!

Posted by Downshire PTA Committee • PTA Organiser

A huge thank you to every pupil, parent, teacher, and sponsor who made our Friday 19th June Colour Run on the School Playing Fields such a colourful celebration! Both the P1–P3 (1:00pm–1:45pm) and P4–P7 (2:00pm–2:45pm) sessions had an amazing turnout, raising vital funds for school resources alongside our charity partner PIPS (Suicide Prevention Ireland). Let us know your feedback as we plan next summer's run!

Splitting the sessions into P1–P3 and P4–P7 worked brilliantly on the playing fields—plenty of space for all the runners and spectators.

May Fair Highlights & Downshire Dynamos MUGA Football

Posted by David K. (P4 Parent) • Parent

Just wanted to pass on how great the ÂŁ2.50 child ticket bundle was at the May Fair (1x tattoo, 1x bounce, 1x cookie decorating, plus juice & biscuit) and the ÂŁ2.50 adult entry with tea/coffee! Having Downshire Dynamos running the charity football on the MUGA kept the older kids entertained all morning too.

Thank you so much David! Keeping the fair affordable for families with the all-in-one ticket and School Money option is a top priority for us.
