About Downshire Primary School PTA

Every parent, carer, guardian, and teacher at Downshire Primary School is automatically part of our PTA community. Together, we build friendships, organise memorable events, and raise vital funds that benefit every child from Primary 1 to Primary 7.

1. Memorable Pupil Events

Whether it is bouncing on inflatables and decorating cookies at the May Fair, running through rainbow clouds on the playing fields at the Colour Run, or browsing festive stalls at our Christmas Fair, our events create lasting primary school memories.

2. Enhancing School Resources

Funds raised through ticket sales, stalls, and sponsorships go straight back into Downshire Primary School—supporting outdoor play and MUGA equipment, classroom technology, library books, and curriculum enrichment across P1–P7.

3. Charity & Local Spirit

We believe in giving back to our wider community—partnering with organisations like PIPS (Suicide Prevention Ireland) during our June Colour Run and teaming up with Downshire Dynamos for charity football on the MUGA.

Ways You Can Get Involved

You don't need to attend every meeting to make a huge difference! Here are four easy ways parents and carers help out:

30–60 Mins

Stall Helper

Take a short 30 or 60-minute shift serving tea & coffee, manning the tombola, or applying temporary tattoos at the May or Christmas Fair.

At Home

Bake or Donate

Send in traybakes or biscuits for our refreshment stalls, or donate a prize for the school tombola and seasonal raffles.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pay for PTA event tickets?

Most events—such as the May Fair (£2.50 Adult / £2.50 Child tickets)—can be paid conveniently in advance via School Money as well as on the door on the day of the event. Sponsored events like the Colour Run include a sponsorship form sent home via school.

How can I book a stall for the Christmas Fair or May Fair?

We love welcoming local makers, crafters, and community stalls! Simply email us at DownshireprimaryPTA@gmail.com or use our online stall enquiry form with details of what you would like to sell.

How does the Parent Feedback Forum work?

Our Feedback Forum lets parents and carers suggest ideas for upcoming events, share what worked well, and reply to community discussions. To keep the board constructive and safe for our primary school community, all new posts and replies are reviewed and approved by the PTA Committee before appearing publicly.
